You can’t bring fresh food across country lines. Canned food/ chips/ pasta might be OK. You can not carry liquids in the air cabin with you.

Its not worth the trouble to take it with you. With all the restrictions on liquids and customs.
When you get to the Balize Airport, grab a taxi and go to a local grocery store and buy your supplies there then take it with you to the island. The local airlines, which you will fly to the island, could care less what you take with you.
It is only the US that has all those restrictions.
As for pricing, there isn’t enough difference to make the effort.
What about the money illegals make while here?
